Indigenous employment and workforce management

RED Appointments has developed a sizeable mobile indigenous workforce.

The Northern Territory Government’s Indigenous Participation Policy requires Indigenous trades, labour and services to the value of 10% of total project cost on all NTG funded construction and infrastructure projects over $500k.

RED Appointment’s service goes well beyond simply recruiting indigenous people for jobs. One of the key elements is the support services we provide which underpins our success in attracting and retaining an indigenous workforce. This includes arranging appropriate training and PPE and mentoring.

In 2015 RED placed 131 Indigenous people in jobs ranging from carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, plant operating, labouring, administration and OH&S. Additionally, 20 of our employees obtained a Certificate II in Building and Construction which was fully funded by the Northern Territory Government.

We are very proud of these outcomes and believe we are making a genuine impact on people’s lives by assisting them to achieve meaningful employment. We have a number of likeminded clients who see the value in this service and have elected to partner with us to assist them in achieving their organisational Indigenous Participation goals.
