Our client, a global leader in the recovery and re-manufacturing of primary resources, with a new state-of-the-art recovery facility in Sydney (western suburbs), require an experienced Maintenance Manager. The facility processes dry, non-recyclable waste that would otherwise go to landfill - to produce an alternative fuel source.


Reporting to the NSW Operations Manager, your key duties will include but not be limited to:


  • Ensure the safe, efficient and cost effective maintenance of the site to meet agreed performance targets and statutory requirements
  • Ensure best practice across safety, environment, quality, housekeeping, efficiency and utilization
  • Provide process, plant and equipment technical support
  • Ensure HSEQ compliance
  • Ensure Quality Management Systems compliance
  • Manage maintenance activities in conjunction with operational needs
  • Manage internal and external maintenance teams to ensure plant is maintained to the required standards
  • Schedule and implement routine and corrective maintenance activities
  • Manage spare parts inventory
  • Develop a high performing maintenance team including training, performance management and appraisals of the team
  • Develop and maintain strong, cost effective relationships with suppliers, vendors, service providers and contractors
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Ensure timely and accurate purchase order management


Essential Qualifications and Experience Required:


  • Engineering (mechanical or electrical) background
  • Solid experience in maintenance and maintenance management in a manufacturing or mineral processing environment
  • Excellent front line supervisory/management experience and capabilities
  • Understanding and experience of LEAN manufacturing
  • Excellent understanding and experience in the implementation and upkeep of a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
  • Strong ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • IT literate (MS Office)
